At the Women and Girls Foundation we are breaking down barriers so every girl can rise, and every woman can soar.
Our 2020 strategic vision includes training hundreds of girls to be our future leaders; achieving equal pay for equal work; decreasing poverty rates for single moms; and fighting for paid leave for every worker in PA.
Big Goals? Yes. Possible? Yes!
We Have A Problem:
Pennsylvania is consistently ranked as one of the worst states for the representation of women in government.
In 2017, Pennsylvania ranked 49th out of 50 in female representation in elected office.
This factor, as well as others, contributes to women’s voices and issues having less priority in important decision-making, political, and civic processes.
